The Technical Committee Reviews Schematic Topics in Muscat Governorate

The Technical Committee of the Interim Mechanism of Urban Planning reviewed (65) technical and planning topics regarding changing land use and heights in the governorate of Muscat in its first meeting of this year, headed by Engineer Saif bin Amer Al Shaqsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing on Tuesday 17/1/2017 at the Ministry.

 

Noteworthy that the committee held 18 meetings during the last year. The committee approved a number of urban plans and schematic pockets, which amounted to (100) detailed schemes that provided more than (46,000) land plots of various uses at the level of Sultanate governorates while the total number of individual transactions and investment projects (816) transactions during 2016.

 

The Technical Committee in Charge of Urban Planning Interim Mechanism in charge of reviewing and approving the urban planning in accordance with the specified regulations and standards as well as deciding on all current and future requests of changing the uses and building heights until the adoption of the National Strategy for Urban Development while Directorates and Departments of housing in the governorates take the charge of presenting schemes to Municipal Councils to give their opinion and then forward them to the technical committee in membership of a number of officials from different concerned authorities and headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing.
