Engineer Saif bin Amer Al Shaqsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing headed on Tuesday 13/12/2016 the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Interim Mechanism of Urban Planning at the Ministry in the presence of the committee members from relevant government bodies. The meeting discussed more than (67) technical and planning topics as well as various investment topics in Muscat governorates. The meeting also discussed a number of topics regarding changing land use and heights in the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Buraimi.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed (60) technical and planning transactions in South Al Batinah governorate included (45) in the Wilayat of Barka, (11) in the Wilayat of Al Musanah, (3) in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq in addition to (1) transactionin the Wilayat of Al Awabi. Moreover, the committee reviewed (5) transactions in Muscat included (4) transactions in the Wilayat of Bushar and (1) in the Wilayat of Al Amerat. It also reviewed (1) transaction in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq in North Al Batinah Governorate and (1) transaction in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi in Governorate of Al Buraimi.
The Technical Committee in Charge of Urban Planning Interim Mechanism in charge of reviewing and approving the urban planning in accordance with the specified regulations and standards as well as deciding on all current and future requests of changing the uses and building heights until the adoption of the National Strategy for Urban Development while Directorates and Departments of housing in the governorates take the charge of presenting schemes to Municipal Councils to give their opinion and then forward them to the technical committee which headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing.
