Engineer Saif bin Amer Al Shaqsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing headed the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Interim mechanism of Urban Planning on Tuesday 28/02/2017 in the Ministry of Housing headquarter in the presence of the Committee members of relevant government bodies as the committee reviewed a number of technical and planning topics as well as various topics related to changing of uses and height.
The meeting reviewed (31545) land plot of different uses in the governorates of the Sultanate. In the Al Dhakiliyah Governorate (7951) land plot were reviewed of (21) schemes including (2364) Nizwa, (1848) Adam, (1437) Manah, (1260) Izki, (791) Bahla, (130) Bidbid and (121) in Al Hamra.
In Al Dhaira Governorate, (6350) land plot were reviewed of (14) schemes including (3060) in Ibri, (866) in Dhank, (2424) plot in Yanqul. In North Al Batinah Governorate (4569) land plot were reviewed for two schemes including (2218) plot in Saham and (2398) Al Suwaiq in addition to (4516) land plot were reviewed of (7) schemes in South Al Batinah Governorate including (908) in Al Rustaq, (860) in Wadi Al Ma’awil, (2365) in Barka and (383) plots in Al Musanaah.
In North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, (3303) land plot were reviewed of (6) schemes including (3096) in Al Mudhaibi and (207) in Bidiyah. In South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, (2871) land plot were reviewed of (3) schemes including (1568) in Al Kamil Wal’ Wafi, (504) in Jalan Bani Bu Hassan and (799) in Masirah.
The meeting also reviewed (1559) land plot of (3) schemes in Muscat Governorate including (1283) in Al Amerat and (276) in Quriyyat. moreover, (703) land plot were reviewed of (1) scheme in Salalah in Dhofar, (582) land plot were reviewed of (2) scheme in Al Jazir in Al Wusta Governorate, (409) land plot were reviewed of (1) scheme in Mahadha in Al Buraimi Governorate and Review (117) land plot of (1) scheme is Khasab in Musandam Governorate.
The Technical Committee in Charge of Urban Planning Interim Mechanism in charge of reviewing and approving the urban planning in accordance with the specified regulations and standards as well as deciding on all current and future requests of changing the uses and building heights until the adoption of the National Strategy for Urban Development while Directorates and Departments of housing in the governorates take the charge of presenting schemes to Municipal Councils to give their opinion and then forward them to the technical committee which headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing
