Engineer Sultan bin Hamoud Al Rashdi, director of implementation follow-up department at the Directorate General of Projects in the Ministry of Housing said that the ministry has completed the construction projects of 47 housing units with a mosque and a public hall (majils) and public facilities in a number of wilayats at a cost of more than RO 1,5 including basic facilities like roads and electricity, noting that most of these projects are carried out by local contractors of various grades as a kind of encouragement to the private sector.
- 47 housing units ready for distribution
Al Rashdi added that the implementation of housing unit projects is evaluated and followed up by specialists from DG of projects in addition to the appointment of a special consultant for each project. The ministry has completed the construction of 15 housing units at a cost of RO 734,618,000 in Al Rahba area in the wilayat of Bidbid in Al Dakhiliyah governorate, while other 15 housing units, a mosque and a public majlis were also completed in the village of Al Qabidhiyah in the wilayat of Bahla at a total cost of RO 420,527. As for Siih Al Arshan in the wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali in South Al Sharqiyah governorate, 17 housing units were completed at an estimated cost of RO 483,291, pointing out that the ministry has almost completed the project of constructing 38 housing units and a mosque in Al Hawiyah area in the wilayat of Bidiyah of North Al Sharqiyah governorate at a cost of more than RO 1,879,000.
- Construction of 203 housing units with public facilities worth over RO 9,5 mln
Al Rashdi said that the ministry is currently building 203 residential units, 46 double housing units (twin villas), a mosque, a public majlis hall and public facilities with a total cost of RO 9,5 million in various wilayats of the Sultanate. He added that work is in progress in the construction of 26 twin villas in Al Khoud area in the wilayat of Al Seeb in Muscat governorate worth more than RO 953,000. Work is also in progress to complete the construction of 20 twin villa housing units worth more than RO 560,000 in Halban area in the same wilayat.
- 123 units in Al Dakhiliyah
The director of implementation follow-up department said that work also continues in Al Dakhiliyah governorate with the construction of 123 housing units, a mosque, a majlis hall and public facilities at the cost RO 6 million. In Jabal Shams, in the wilayat of Al Hamra, 15 housing units, a mosque and public facilities are under construction at the cost of OR 902,600. Also in the village of Al Tasaweer in the wilayat of Izi, work continues to complete the construction of 20 housing units and public facilities worth more than RO 1,027,000. Al Rashdi pointed out that work continues in the areas of Northern and Southern Al Ghubaita in the wilayat of Adam to build 20 housing units and public facilities worth more than RO 1,183,000. Work continued as well in the construction of 20 housing units in the village of Matan in the wilayat of Manah with a total cost of RO 985,600.
Engineer Sultan pointed out that the work is currently underway in the area of Maseeh in the wilayat of Bahla regarding the construction of 8 housing units at a total cost of RO 271,367, as well as in other areas including Tawi Guwar, Shia and Bakira where the construction of 10 housing units worth RO 427,886 continues. In addition, in the wilayat of Dama wa Al Taeyeen in North Al Sharqiyah governorate work continues in the village of Hail Al Kabeer on the construction of 23 housing units at a total cost of RO 460,856.
Al Rashdi added that work is underway in the village of Madirah in the wilayat of Mahut in Al Wusta governorate to complete the construction of 37 housing units with more than RO 558,000. As for the village of Baadah in the wilayat of Hayama, work continues to build 50 housing units with a total cost of RO 1,879,000, and in the wilayat of Daba in Musandam governorate the ministry continues work in the establishment of a public majlis at the cost of RO 325,000.
